Our Members

Mercy Works is a company limited by guarantee. Our Members are Religious Sisters of Mercy who represent the leadership of the Institute of Sisters of Mercy of Australia and Papua New Guinea, the Sisters of Mercy Brisbane Congregation, and the Sisters of Mercy Parramatta Congregation.

As Members of the company and custodians of the Mercy tradition inspired by Catherine McAuley, they safeguard Mercy Works’ purpose and ensure the organisation remains faithful to its vision and mission. While they do not manage the organisation’s day-to-day operations, they fulfil important governance responsibilities, including appointing the Board of Directors, approving changes to the Constitution and receiving the organisation’s annual financial reports.

Through this stewardship, they help ensure Mercy Works remains faithful to its vision and mission of supporting community-led development and relief activities across Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
