Gabriella Kawage

Life Skills Trainer, Simbu, PNG

Gabriella joined the Mercy Works Ltd Papua New Guinea (MWLPNG) staff team in Simbu in 2020 as a Life Skills Trainer in Kerawagi district. She is the Chair of the ‘Leave No One Behind’ (LNB) Dimbi Youth Cycle 2. Gabriella is also part of the committee who are promoting the cause of their local priest Fr Joseph Sakite SVD who sadly died from Covid in 2022.

Gabriella really enjoys helping people through the skills training work especially teaching them how to cook. Her cassava flour and gari (roasted cassava which is eaten for breakfast) is in high demand and she also enjoys making cooking oil and growing  spices such as ginger, chilli, turmeric and sito, which add extra taste to cooking. Gabriella is married and her husband works as a driver. They have seven children, two boys and five girls. She has already seen so many changes in people lives through Mercy Works in Simbu and sites a young man who was able to raise enough money to build his house through the LNB savings loan, and another young man who lives in the mountains and who has begun his own business, as highlights. Gabriella thanks God for many blessings, as together as a team they bring the sun and the light to the lives of the people.
