Engaging people in social change

Education has the potential to transform people and communities, not just in developing countries with limited resources, but here in Australia too.

Throughout the year we make frequent visits to schools and organisations talking about Mercy Works’ activities, our approach to working with local communities and how people can get involved.

Through a presentation from Mercy Works you can learn:

  • more about the many challenging issues that people face in PNG, Timor-Leste and the indigenous and refugee communities of Australia
  • how Mercy Works operates, listening to local people, responding to needs and helping to develop sustainable solutions
  • about the power of listening to people in need, letting them share their stories, and determining for themselves what support they need
  • how to get involved, become more informed and play an active role in addressing social justice and human rights

If you’d like a speaker from Mercy Works to visit your organisation, please contact our Community Education Co-ordinator, Monica Whelan LCM by phone (02) 9564 1911 or email us to find out more.
